DOST Scholarship Accredited Schools 2026: Complete List by Region

Quick answer: DOST scholars must enroll in a priority program at a University of the Philippines campus, a state university or college, or a private school that is a CHED Center of Excellence or Development, or has FAAP Level III accreditation, for that program. Eligibility is per program, not per school.

Passing the exam is only half the job. To use your award, you must enroll in a DOST scholarship accredited school, meaning an institution that DOST-SEI recognizes for the priority course you want to take.

This guide explains which schools accept the DOST scholarship in 2026, gives a list of schools by region, highlights top universities for DOST scholars and shows how to check if your school and program qualify before you enroll.

DOST scholarship accredited schools 2026: complete list by region

What Is a DOST-Accredited School?

DOST-SEI does not accredit schools itself. Instead, it lets scholars enroll in a priority S&T program offered by one of these institutions:

  • University of the Philippines campuses
  • State universities and colleges (SUCs)
  • Private higher education institutions recognized by CHED as a Center of Excellence (COE) or Center of Development (COD) for that program
  • Institutions with FAAP Level III accreditation (Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines) for that program

The key point: accreditation is per program, not per school. A private university can be eligible for Chemical Engineering but not for another course. Some programs are also covered only at specific universities, as noted in the DOST priority courses list.

Because SUCs already have free tuition under RA 10931, scholars there mostly benefit from the allowances, while scholars in eligible private schools also receive up to ₱40,000 a year for tuition.

Every region has eligible schools, since all SUCs offering priority programs qualify. The table below shows examples of universities that DOST scholars commonly attend in each area:

Can You Enroll in a Non-Accredited School?

  • Generally, no. If your school or program does not meet DOST-SEI’s criteria, you cannot use the scholarship there, even if you qualified.
  • Course matters too: even at an eligible school, only priority programs are funded. Shifting to a non-priority course may terminate the scholarship.
  • Transferring later needs DOST-SEI approval and an Amendatory Agreement, and JLSS scholars cannot transfer at all.
  • If your school is not eligible, choose another eligible institution that offers your preferred priority program.

How to Check if Your School Is Accredited

  1. Check the priority programs list on the official DOST-SEI website and scholarship portal.
  2. If it is an SUC or UP campus, confirm that your course is on the priority list.
  3. If it is a private school, check whether your program is a CHED COE/COD or has FAAP Level III accreditation. CHED and the accrediting agencies publish these lists.
  4. Ask the registrar whether your specific program is eligible for DOST-SEI scholars.
  5. Confirm with your DOST Regional Office before enrolling.
